Parliament Violated War Law

In March 2003 Parliament voted for war against Iraq. Using cruise missiles, rockets, cluster bombs and depleted uranium shells, Coalition forces killed thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children. This is genocide. Tony Blair and 1000 US and UK political, military and civil leaders share responsibility for the war with Iraq and the worst crimes of the 21st century.

“War is essentially an evil thing. Its consequences are not confined to the belligerent states alone, but affect the whole world. To initiate a war of aggression therefore, is not only an international crime, it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”

We have laws against waging war . Both America and Britain ratified the 1928 General Treaty for the Renunciation of War giving a binding commitment to the world that we would never go to war again; yet Tony Blair involved Britain in five illegal wars in eight years .

We have laws against the use of armed force. When Britain helped to set up the UN we pledged that we would never threaten or use force against any country; yet our Government violated this treaty by illegally invading Iraq and killing thousands of its people.

We have laws against killing people , yet our armed forces have killed at least 50,000 people in six years. None of the victims had committed a crime, attacked Britain, or been allowed to argue their case in court, and none of them were shown any mercy before they were massacred by order of the British Government. This is a crime against humanity

We have laws against landmines. In 1998 Britain enacted the Landmines Act forbidding the use of anti-personnel explosives, yet UK and US forces illegally dropped over 1m cluster bomblets on Iraq killing and maiming thousands of Iraqi children.

We have laws against genocide. It is a crime for British residents to commit genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes, yet Parliament ordered Britain’s armed forces to attack Iraq knowing that innocent Iraqis would be killed. By deliberately killing Iraqis solely because they lived in Iraq, Britain’s political, civil and military leaders committed genocide.

We have the laws but no-one willing to enforce them. Despite reporting these crimes and demanding the arrest and prosecution of offenders, no-one in the Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Judiciary, the Attorney General’s office, the Home Office, Parliament or the International Criminal Court is willing to do so. It is now every citizen’s duty to refuse to cooperate with government until they uphold and enforce the rule of law.
